This was a very confused book. I don't think the elements of contempory and dystopian didn't quite work. I felt like I was questionning the world more than the plot- why was America in this state? What had led to the disease.

The large majority of the characters fell flat and seemed to be superficial; merging into one big mean girl. This reminded me a lot of The Selection- a book series that I stopped reading mid-through book two.
