At first I hated this book. I am not into true crime so the true crime podcasts scattered through it especially in the beginning was a lot for me. But i gave it a chance and it ended up being better than i expected. i went into the book not knowing much of the plot so that was kind of fun because i was surprised where it ended up.

i found it really well paced and liked the magical realism. the “mystery” was part of the story but it wasn’t the whole focus.

I wanted more from the book but it was accurate about white savorism and white feminist liberals. It hit home on those points
