Right now, you are orbiting a BLACK HOLE.

The Earth orbits the Sun, and the Sun goes around the centre of the Milky Way, a supermassive black hole. Let that sink in before you continue..

Black holes are one of the most fascinating phenomenon of the universe. Its this strange object that Dr. Becky Smethurst explains and dispels the widely known myths about it. Humans have always orbited a black hole, but only as recently as 1970s it was proposed that at the centre of the Milky Way was a black hole. We put a human on the moon before we knew that!

In A Brief History of Black Holes, Dr. Smethurst with a combination of easy to understand astrophysics and her quirky sense of humor walks us through the various aspects of black holes - how humans discovered it, the formation of black holes, the structure, what it contains and where all of this is going. The science is not intimidating, chapters are relatively short, giving you just what you need to understand the point. I would highly recommend you to read this book if you even remotely interested.

Did you know that its not exactly a hole per se, but a ....... .. well you have to read it to find out.
