a well researched sandwich that is full of victorian references, personal flagellation and second-tier feminism that manages to be both entertaining and, in some ways, delirious. 
i can’t say i didn’t enjoy reading this; the points it made, when it made them, were interesting and sustainable, but at times the writers’ insert turned too heavy, and i get it, female experiences and all, but was this a biography?
