what an utter shit show.
overall, i don’t know what to feel, i don’t know if i like this, but at least leto was entertaining, so that can count for something.

we start with another slow buildup that finally manages to become enthralling and captivating. siento a herbert mucho más fuerte y conciso aquí, every single conversation, as banal as we can think it to be, has so much depth and care put into it that you can’t help but re-read and pick at it constantly.
me encantó el desarrollo de leto y la tristeza con la que acepta el camino a tomar por el bien de la humanidad, y aún así tuve mis usuales decepciones con los ritmos y el depth de otros personajes—not much i can do about that.
verdaderamente un gran, gran libro, i can’t wait for god emperor.

una gran, genuinamente gran introducción that then gets utterly trashed by a lack of depth with certain characters that the movie did better (herejía). there’s a nice subtlety to paul’s turning y el camino que se escribe es muy entretenido, with most of the important characters engaging enough but also lacking in areas.
el world building me gustó mucho y las inspiraciones al mundo real eran obvias, which made it all much more digestible, le podría dar cuatro estrellas pero what the fuck was that last speech?
