Let me just say that Tess Sharpe is a brilliant author. The Girls I’ve Been became an instant favourite of mine, and I had such high expectations coming into this, however, I probably enjoyed this more than the prequel.

Each character is written with such care and thoughtfulness that you feel like you know them personally, and despite their flaws, I couldn’t help but root for them and a happy ending. Getting to see Iris and Wes’ POVs also made this novel more enjoyable , simply because Tess Sharpe can create fully fleshed out and complex characters.

The storytelling is unmatched too. The pacing is quick and hooks you from the start, the plot twists don’t feel cliché or too predictable, and the tension builds throughout the entire work. It’s just a perfect mystery/thriller to sink your teeth into. And despite how sad I am the series stops here, I am relieved the story was done justice and ended the way it did.
