Stolen by an Alien by Amanda Milo

Did not finish book. Stopped at 73%.
This book wasn’t awful. But it couldn’t seem to decide whether to be dark (with several background characters having been gangraped and all the women having been at least sexually assaulted, including the fmc) or cute (with the dinglehopper moments and translation errors) and it didn’t blend the two very well.

There were a few fadeouts on the spicy scenes, which surprised me, but weren’t a deal breaker.

What eventually got me was the end stretching out into series setup. Barring figuring out where to go, Arokh and Angie’s story was more or less over, but the author just. Kept writing.

I’ve seen it before in first-of-series books when the author tries to cram in a bunch of series scaffolding at the end and it just makes the book feel clunky, unbalanced, and boring

Seriously by 60%, I was praying for it to just be over until I finally tapped out. It just wasn’t fun anymore.
