Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
5.0
"For every trick you've seen, I know a thousand more."
This book was awesome! At first, I didn't think that I would like this book because I've tried to read books with more than three character POVs and found myself unable to finish the books. However, Leigh Bardugo managed to balance out the characters and give them depth so that I got through this book.
Ahhhhhh. Speaking of the characters, they are three-dimensional and my kind of people - sarcastic, witty, and brilliant. I kept sitting back and taking my eyes away from the book to say, "Man. Inej and Nina are my kind of girls." They are strong, powerful, and fearless. And don't even get me started on Kaz Brekker.
That ending was rather harsh, wasn't it? I mean, that has got to one of the best/worst cliffhangers I've EVER read. And if you have read ANY books by Shannon Messenger, you know how hard her's are to beat.
"Six of Crows" is deceitfully magical with a hint of romance and PLENTY of suspicion. It is all one grand, mysterious charade that I'm sure Kaz Brekker would be proud of.
There is so much potential in this story of thieves and heists, merchers and riches. I only hope that Leigh Bardugo executed the second book in this series as well as the first one.
