PROS:
  • Action packed!!! Leigh Bardugo really knows how to keep the plot moving,, I felt like I was inside a pinball machine during a very intense game and I’m not mad about it.

  • Complicated but still follow-able. This book had 3-4 heists going on at once, and she did a great job balancing foreshadowing, recapping, and surprising. Ironically, this one was easier to follow than the first book that only had 1 heist!

  • Lovable characters. The book alternates perspectives between the 6 main characters and I loved seeing all their voices. Their relationships are so wholesome and you’re really rooting for them the whole time.

CONS:
  • As lovable as the characters are, they did feel a bit flat in the first half. Each person had 2 personality traits that were hammered over and over. Glad I pushed through, the ending was worth it!

  • There was the occasional stretch that had me thinking “mmmm… not sure that would’ve actually played out like this…” but I’m willing to overlook because all the other moving parts that fell together were pretty impressive.
