The Stranger in the Woods: The Extraordinary Story of the Last True Hermit by Michael Finkel

5.0

From most reviews and the title, you might expect this to be about the experiences of a modern day hermit. But in reality the person who this book is centered around, Christopher Knight, who was really a hermit, is only a small portion of this book. It turns out there is not much more to the story of a hermit other than they decided to live by themselves and then did it. Even though this wasn't the book I was expected it to be, I really loved it. I learned so much about the psychology and science behind a person choosing a solitary life. It was just all-around a very interesting and informational read!
