Man, I really wanted to like this one as much as the first book but I just didn't. The flow wasn't the same. Anne wasn't the same. Nothing felt right. Plus, I'm pretty sure seeing the movie version too many times - and this being totally different than the movie - tarnished the experience for me. With Green Gables everything was so spot on, even the comparison with the movie that this will just be second fiddle to the 1st. Sometimes series get better as they go. In this case, it did not. Poor Montgomery. I wonder if the critics felt the same way.
