How Can I Help You by Laura Sims
4.0
Type of read: Commuter Read.
What made me pick it up: I found this while randomly scrolling through available audiobooks, the fact that it was about a library hooked me.
Overall rating: More than anything, Sims accurately captured how finishing a book makes me feel. And for that and everything else within these pages, I'm very thankful. 'How Can I Help You' is a great slow burn of a book. I enjoyed the characters and the perspective switching between Margo and Patricia. I found my way to 'How Can...' after a horrible stint of DNFs. I just couldn't find books that were interesting, well-written, and keeping my attention. 'How Can...' was well thought out, had enough content to keep me interested but wasn't overly complicated, and the characters were reasonable and not divisive. To be honest, I don't have a whole lot to say other than that it is a good read. I'd add 'How Can...' to my recommended list, especially for a fellow bibliophile.
Reader's Note: 'How Can I Help You' includes themes of death, murder, dying, and medically assisted death. All are described and included in a relatively tame and tasteful way.
