It is giving me anxiety and a migraine to think about going back to finishing this book (and it's counterpart). I feel like I am missing so much of the story because we are thrown into this situation without any explanation or background and I'm supposed to just accept everything as true and accept the premise. However, I can't do that. I feel so disconnected from the characters and the story because everything that is said and done feels like it's being said and done from a million miles away. There is potential for an interesting story but there are so many characters -- and I know nothing about them from first hand experience, only from being told -- that I can't power through this first bit to get to where it is probably more exciting. I'm really sad about this tbh.
