It would have been mice to know this was a spin off of another series. It’s so confusing. For instance, she meets a guy and makes out with him. Then later they mention someone named Ian and then Ian, a guy she knows, was the guy she made out with but didn’t realize it? I spent a while trying to figure out who Ian is. It’s so fast paced that she glosses over the emotional connection in favor of constant movement. She has 400 years worth of mama issues and in one short conversation she finds stuff out and says the things she wanted to say and that’s it? Even the characters are surprised at how fast that takes place.
Great world but too little time is spent building the relationships and establishing the world. I guess that work was done in the other series
Honestly, I felt like I was being told the story by someone who was in a hurry and didn’t have time to get too far into it.
