After how much I enjoyed book 1 I was looking forward to book 2. Especially since Heather Guerre is a 1-click author for me. But this installment comes across hurried—in story and production. I’m not as enamored as I usually am. It lacked the emotional hit, the intimacy, that I’ve come to expect from her. Regardless, it’s still an enjoyable read because Heather is a fantastic writer.
