Bury Your Gays by Chuck Tingle
5.0
This is the second book that's given me an existential crisis in the space of a month. It was worth it though!
I listened to the audiobook which was really well narrated. I think it really helped to draw me into the story.
Misha is a very relatable and likeable character. I found myself cheering him on very early on in the story. The side characters were also very intriguing and lovable, particularly Tara!
I was expecting a queer slasher style story, however the plot blends several genres together in a creepy, clever and captivating book. It uses some classic horror tropes and delivers on the twists and turns as well as the gore I was anticipating. Chuck Tingle also drew from other genres in order to elevate the plot far beyond my expectations. He also made this an entire queer experience in a completely different way to most other things I've read.
