Welp. Maybe I am not cozy fantasy girl.
I want high stakes. I want murder & intrigue. I want to care about the characters. I don’t want the story to be predictable (this was).
Unfortunately, Marigold was a pick me girl from the start. Judging other women is not cute.
There were various subplots with Lottie that were entirely predictable.
I did love the bees. I always love bees, but I need to stop picking up books about bees expecting to love them because of bees.
The romance here was cute, but also just confirmed my belief that Marigold was not great at critical thinking.
There was a lot of potential here, just too cozy cottage core and predictable for my taste. I can see the appeal for others.
