The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward
4.0
A very risky act, not perfectly executed but highly commendable in its daring. Ward has a real sense of the lyrical that I find uncommon in contemporary literature.
The first few chapters scared the hell out of me, but the novel gradually becomes something quite tender. I'm definitely going to read Ward's other books.
