The blurb promised a dark fairy tale retelling and all I got at least in the first 30% was painfully bland, generic, and exhausting. There was more expositions than character /relationship development and I absolutely cannot see myself caring even a little about anyone. Nearly put me in a reading slump trying to give it the benefit of the doubt and finish it.
