I really enjoyed the first book on this series and was excited to get back into the world, and whilst I enjoyed it I just didn’t love it like I did the previous one, I found my skipping and skimming through the end.
I appreciated Morgan and Zahar’s relationship development and how they discovered each other in here, the beginning of the book with them in the trench and discover Leo was definitely a highlight for me. Astra and also are the best part of this world, I love them so much and think everyone needs a sabre companion.
If there are any other books within this world then I will read them but I just felt this left me a bit deflated and disappointed.
Some of my favourite tropes were in here, it wasn’t bad at all it just wasn’t quite what I wanted it to be.
