I received a free copy through Heart Eyes Press in exchange for an honest and unbiased review/opinion.
4.5 stars — I enjoyed it more than I was expecting.
It had more ups and downs than I was expecting, but it worked.
Kolby was interesting, b/c he was a bit of a contrast. Both reserved and out there, confident and insecure. He had all these leftover effects from his upbringing, and he was gunshy on relationships.
Their initial meeting wasn’t as fun as I was hoping, and I was a bit worried, but when Adam goes to the Improv class? It was all uphill from there.
Adam was his own study in contrasts — wanting to be out and proud, but worried about how it might affect his chosen career. I understood it, even if it’s a bummer. I appreciated that he wasn’t ashamed of being bisexual though, was 100% on board. I was bummed with a few of the choices he made, but I felt like he made up for them in his “grand gestures”.
It was nice that they both had their fuck ups, it wasn’t just one of them.
It was nice to see the Moo U guys again, and the V&V family. I loved meeting Hannah Banana, and Ian was pretty fun as well.
All in all I was pleasantly surprised. And this review totally sucks, b/c I can’t seem to drag my thoughts out of my brain and onto this page.
