Synopsis:

Months after the events on Iona at the end of Long Live, and with Islas fate still unknown, Sebastian and the Elementals are invited back to the island to celebrate Iona’s launch into the public eye. However, the reason for their invitation may be more sinister than civil. It’s up to them and those they love to uncover the secrets the island, and those governing it, hold.

Review:

Can I just say - can I just SAY. It is such a relief when a sequel LIVES UP to my expectations 😭.

Long Live was my favorite book of last month, Forever Reign may be my favorite of this month. VB Lacey has such an incredible way with words, I can’t get enough.

I loved catching up with the Elementals and seeing how they each were coping with their worlds being rocked at the end of Long Live. We stan a domesticated God 🤣.

Sweetest boy Sebastian stole my heart yet again - what a truly TRULY well written MMC. Every single ding dang thing about him makes my heart hurt with how pure he is. And his way with words? *chefs kiss*

Also how thrilling to see a “I’ll kill them for hurting you” moment where a FMC is protective of a MMC. MORE OF THIS PLEASE.

While it is a “no spice” romance, the flirty banter and the intensity of the relationships in this book still had me kicking my feet and swooning (much like everyone’s best best friend, Bri).

Honestly I’m hard pressed to think of a book where love (outside of the ever common “fated mate” trope that is not at play here) is described as being just so…effortless? All the love in this book is unconditional. It’s not forced, it’s earned. It’s careful but consuming. Romantic, friendly and familial - it all just feels so natural.

I am heartbroken that this duology is over, but comforted with the fact that authors like VB exist - I can’t wait to see what comes next for her.

Forever Reign will be released on April 23, 2024, but you can preorder now on Amazon! Seriously go get your copy.
