This was so freaking good. I could read a dozen suspense stories if they give me someone like Evie to root for. This was brilliant! It took a little while to get going but it was never boring. I enjoyed the writing and the way the story unfolded, going back to go forward. As a predominantly romance reader I very much appreciated the little slice of it was just enough to help build the connection to Evie and one more thing for the reader to be invested in. I cheered and hollered every time near the end Evie pulled a Queen move! This was captivating and fun read. Elston really knows how to lead you exactly where she wants you to go while giving you enough breadcrumbs to figure things out on your own.
