This was a dark, atmospheric story that is a very loose retelling (or simply inspired by) the Twelve Dancing Princesses fairytale. Loved the descriptions of the world in this story, though I wasn't sure I connected fully with the characters. I really enjoyed my time reading this and overall still think it deserves 5 stars despite a few drawbacks for me, personally. :)
