The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson
3.0
Reading a horror novel is a bit outside my normal reading range, but that was part of the reason I picked this up. It is interesting how effectively Shirley Jackson created the foreboding atmosphere. It seems like movies can get a scare easier, with audio and visual cues, but the pervasive sense of dread in this book is remarkable.
