They Can't Kill Us Until They Kill Us by Hanif Abdurraqib

5.0

A book about emo music, grief, love, race, basketball and loss and all the lines in between. Truly so beautiful that I nearly cried at essays in part about Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance. This is essential reading for anyone who loves 2000s pop punk.

I now want to read everything the Abdurraqib has written and will write.

This knocked my goddamn socks off.
