Bryony and Roses by T. Kingfisher

This was just lovely. I didn't want to put it down.
The writing was funny but also really beautiful, I totally shipped B+B, the characters in general were great (I mean, how many novels are there were the house is sentient?), and to be honest, this works so much better than most adaptations and retellings of Beauty and the Beast.
It is good as a re-immagining but also on its own. Bryony, our Beauty character, is far from the stereotype, has an uncommon hobby, a nice sense of humor and is just likable as a whole, but she's far from perfect, which makes her so relatable. Same as the Beast, they have much in common and they also have such a nice chemistry as well.
The story has enough changes and twists to make it something new while staying true to the fairytale.
This just ticked all the right boxes for me and it's one of the very very few cases where I wish this was a whole series.
