Thank you to Grand Central Publishing for my gifted copy for review!
The Surgeon is a legit page-turner. I read most of it in one day, and got up at 1 a.m. to finish and find out whodunnit. (I was sort of correct on the M.O., but completely wrong on the who!)
Dr. Anne Wiley is a second-generation surgeon, specializing in cardiothoracics. She has never lost a patient, until Caleb Donaghy ends up in her OR.
He's someone she hadn't previously recognized as part of her family's past, until she's unable to resuscitate him during surgery.
Why did his heart refuse to restart? Did she end resuscitation efforts too soon? And why is the State's Attorney Office investigating her?
I have always enjoyed a good medical thriller, and author Leslie Wolfe's latest novel is definitely that. It's well-researched, measured in it's reveals, and packed with great characters. Recommended!
Released on March 28.
