Rose Petal Graves by Olivia Wildenstein

There are so many things I liked about this book, but also quite a few things that I found I had to force myself to look past. And then, quite frankly, things I just flat out didn't like.
Right off the bat, I don't love Cat. She's very immature, kind of flighty, and probably one of the most unrealistic characters I've read in a while. I really don't like an ow/om trope, so I wasn't super excited to see that pop up hereā¦ and it took me most of the book to get all of the characters completely straightened out in my head and a family tree completed in a way that I could completely grasp everything that was going down without having to take a second to sory out who was what and where.
I also have to say that one of my biggest pet peeves is when you give me a character that's over a hundred freaking years old, and they act like they're 16. I'm sorry, but it just doesn't work. I don't take the characters seriously, and therefore, any part of the plot there in, I also dont take seriously. And Cat's Dad. Like, dude, how out of touch are you with your kid right now that you can't even see that something is going on. You freaking live with her.
All the somewhat negative parts out of the way, I love the idea of the Hunters and the Fae. It is so much fun. I love the idea of the Hunters waking up from history and joining the modern day. And I love the animosity that's between them all at this point.
While I haven't fallen in love, I am quite interested to see where this series goes.
