Useless Magic: Lyrics and Poetry by Florence Welch

5.0

Adding a review for this since I received the new paperback edition today! I'm so happy there's a paperback. I was very lucky to attend a signing when this was first released, so my hardback copy is very precious to me! But now I have one that I can flip through at any time without having to worry about damage.

The paperback has added photos from the last tour, more poems, lyrics and a new sermons section. I particularly love 'This Poem is Not Good Enough':

"I have been bleeding out in public
For so long
And all I know is, all I have been taught
is that it is
Both
Not good enough
And still, somehow
Too much"

I love everything she does, so it's nice to have a collection of Florence's lyrics, poems, drawings, sermons, paintings, thoughts etc. She's one of my favourite songwriters, and one of my favourite people in general. When times are tough, sometimes you just need to open a book, look at some pretty art and hear some words of wisdom from the head witch herself.
