I always liked how in East Asian culture tea has been categorized as an art. So to build a world around the art of tea making as magic seemed fascinating and it was done in a beautiful way.
For me the story picked up midway into the book. Even though there's a boy here and a heterosexual romance, I'm glad the focus was more on the women characters and with them joining forces shifted the tone of the story in a good way.
