More Than Him by Jay McLean

5.0

OhmYgOd this series just gets better :')
I love how Jay McLean ends her books. It literally has you reading the next book instantly.

Soooooooo Looooooooogan. Wow, I love him so much. This. Book.

Just, he becomes so vulnerable it broke me and made me fall in love with him.

After the way he left in #3, it tore everything apart that they had tried so hard to rebuild after the first time. After they finally getting their shit together and things start to look up for them, Logan and Amanda find themselves in dark places, only to find that they can save each other.

Of course, that's at the end.

“Because I was the match that started the inferno.”

Logan ran off with guilt after what happened that night when his fears came crashing down on him. He was blinded by how undone he became, how he let it all get to him. To her.

Nightmares. Anxiety. Shakes.

Broken, he finds himself travelling the world helping others for a year to help him clear his mind. He learns a lot and gets support to help him through his turmoil that he has managed to bury deep down.
But he never forgets her, not for a second. Perhaps she's forgotten him. A whole year. One letter. She deserves better than him.

“But I'm going back, and when I do, I'm going to fight for her.
It could take me days, weeks, months, years. It doesn't fucking matter. Because I won't just be fighting for her, I'll be fighting you too. And if I ever get her back, it'll be my life's biggest achievement.”

He knows she's it for him. He loves her so much. She is his light in the darkness. And he realises that what he really wants to do is fight for her. Fight to get her back.

“I couldn't tell you why he let me in, or what it was about me, or about us, that led him to believe that it was okay for us to fall in love the way we did. The kind of insanely deep, destructive love.
Destructive.

That's exactly what we were.”

Amanda. I mentioned how she could be understanding in my last review and we see that here.

He left her. Again. No goodbye. They had gotten so far. They had a future in sights. They were working through their problems.
After that night, Amanda struggles to keep afloat. Scared to be alone, screaming in her sleep, she is devastated. But she understands that he needed to clear his head. She was horrified for him, for what had happened.

No contact except for that one letter. He could be alive. He could be dead and she wouldn't know.

Angry and hurt over how he left her, her family and friends are left to bring Amanda back to herself and pick up the pieces.

Until they run into each other unexpectedly.

“You took my nightmares and turned them into dreams”

He's been back for a few weeks but no one knows. He likes to sleep on the couch so he can see the front door. He keeps 4 locks on his door.
Logan is coming back to himself but he's hasn't forgotten a thing.

Especially what she did to him, just being around her made him nervous because he knows he's f****d up so many times. But he can't help it, he's in love with her. Being with her is natural even though so much s*** keeps coming up.

For her, she knew she always loved him. She always would, no matter what happened between them. She was hurt and angry....and she still loved him. Talking to him again, seeing him, being with him, Amanda believes they can still achieve their hopes and dreams in each other.

“It's going to be okay, Amanda." He kissed my head. "I promise," he said. "I'm going to make it okay.”

Watching Logan and Amanda come together again....was so fricking beautiful. Painful, but beautful.

After a year, they have to learn about where they stand. Their love is strong but it can't be enough and they know they have issues to work through.

But I was so glad to see Logan have the moment, their moment, to give her the whole damn universe.

What she deserved.
What he deserved.

And they healed each other.

“You’re it for me. Because I love you. I’ve always loved you. I’ll always love you. And I hope that that’s what you feel when you think about this moment. Loved.”

I really loved this book!!! I completely became immersed in Logan and Amanda and their story. So many issues and their love for each other.... just came together so well in this book. I love Logan, just his pain in this book, his almost desperation and need and vulnerability got me hooked on him and I loved his way. He was still battling some of his demons but Amanda was able to help him.
Taking Logan back AGAIN, Amanda knows it's the right thing, she's not ignorant to what's happened but she can't help her feelings. But she's not sure her twin will be happy to see the asshole back after the way he up and left her after that incident. I like how Amanda can be this strong character but also very insecure sometimes which really can make her unpredictable in certain situations.

I'm sooo happy for Logan and Amanda. They deserved to finally be together. They weren't perfect, but they were getting there. As long as they had each other, they could heal.

“Transit umbra, lux permanet.”

Also, I cannot end this without mentioning...wait, have I already mentioned how awesome their friends are? :D

Especially drunk Lucy. Oh. My. God.

NEXT BOOK QUICK.
