The Silvered Serpents by Roshani Chokshi
5.0
⚠️This book is the second in a series and this review may contain slight spoilers for the first book. ⚠️
Still dealing with the tragic consequences of their last encounter with the Fallen House, Séverin and his crew are trying to mend their broken bonds and hearts as well as they know how- hunting for answers in a long lost treasure. Séverin sees a way to take back what the Fallen House stole; Laila sees a way to live; and the others all see a way to their own futures and a means of recovering lost hopes and dreams. But in order to to find their answers they have to be able to trust each like never before. But how can they do that when they're each keeping so many secrets?
Just like the book before it, this one did not disappoint! The plot moved along at a great pace (though it did take a little longer to really pull me in than the first book) and was filled with plenty of twists and turns as well as witty dialogue. The character development was amazing and the new characters that were introduced were beautifully complex. The writing itself was fluid and wonderful and I found myself marking quote after quote. My only regret in reading this book is that the next one is not yet out. 4.5/5 ⭐
