The second volume was just as good as the first. This may seriously be my new favorite series. It's been awhile since I read something that intrigued me this much.
The characters in these books are completely unique and beautiful. I adore them and they never cease to surprise and delight me. I especially love that Hazel is narrating the story (and I can't wait to see what she's like when she's grown up!). Izabel (the ghost babysitter) cracks me up and The Will really really intrigues me (I'm excited to see where his story goes).
Besides the characters, the story is brilliant. We're following a war AND a love story AND some serious family drama, yet there are new twists all along the way and we're constantly meeting new brilliant characters or learning something that changes the way we see old characters.
Also, the plot twists that the author always ends on are fantastic. I am dying to get my hands on the next volume.
