What in the fuck just happened?? I have so many conflicting emotions I feel like my mind and emotions have been put in a blender at high speed. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to receive this book as an eARC and I had so much fun doing it.

I was interested in the story from the beginning. Despite some writing choices that I didn't particularly love, none of the things I didn't fully vibe with were enough to stop me from getting fully invested in the story. There were a lot of moments when I thought the whole book would be extremely predictable (which isn't necessarily a bad thing, just A thing) but then I was almost immediately proved to be wrong. I would say something in my notes and then a chapter later my reaction would be "I WAS FUCKING KIDDING." It spiced the story up for me in a way I'm not used to and it was really refreshing to see tropes that have been done to death have a little twist on them.
With that being said I am about to go off on a little rant because this book also reminded me why men suck.

I have some problems with our main characters.
- I hate Storm. I hate him so much it's not even funny. Maybe he gets redeemed later in the series but as of right now, I want his story to end with him regretting every life decision he's ever made, living out the rest of his days alone and depressed while our main girl -whose name escapes me right now- lives out her best life. He is a misogynistic, hypocritical, whiny dick who refuses to acknowledge what he wants then blames everyone else and lashes out when faced with the consequences of his actions. I lowkey have hopes that he will turn to the dark side and become the antagonist of the story.
- Feylin (I remembered her name) is naive and stupidly optimistic, and her inability to just get over her feelings for the guy she met two seconds ago gave me hives. To an extent, I understand with the whole fated mates rejection things leaving permanent scarring on your entire being as a person and blah blah blah. But I have read too many werewolf Wattpad stories with this exact plot to have any sort of patience for this kind of self-destructive behaviour. The way the book ended was the absolute best outcome for her character in my opinion and I honestly can't wait to see what happens with her and *that* guy next. On a side note, wtf does she look like? I don't know if it was explained at all and I just missed it but I can remember the character descriptions for everyone but her and it's bothering me. Usually, I don't really care that much but the art of the cover suggests she has a darker skin tone (which I fucking hope so considering she's depicted with locs) and now all I can think about is that sound on Tiktok "What colour are you, some type of black or Spanish?" For now, I'm choosing to believe she's lightskin or mixed.

Overall, I really enjoyed the book as it is such a quick read (literally took me a couple of hours after work) and it is easy to get into. This is a great palate cleanser with a side of emotional turmoil and I find that tends to be the best combination. I am excited to see how all the characters progress and to see if Storm somehow gets redeemed.
