I have been seeing recommendations for this book for a while and it did not disappoint. Moreno-Garcia was able to write a beautiful and haunting gothic novel that is on par with a Brontë novel (I personally like it more). There are added layers of complexity and generational trauma that blend seamlessly into the story. I loved it and plan on reading it many more times. This is going to be one of my favorite gothic novels. P
