This is one of the weirdest books I've ever read. I usually don't read anything horror or murder mystery, and I mainly picked it out because I liked the book cover when I saw it in the book store. I didn't connect that it was a story inpspired by The Little Shop Of Horrors until later. As a theatre kid I enjoyed the references to musical theatre and I liked many of the characters. Overall I thought the story was interesting and fun. However, the writing style is mostly what bothered me since the author likes to write in the style of Carrie Bradshaw or as if she's a character on Family Guy, by constantly adding puns and weird niche references to musical theatre and pop culture. It was fun at first, but it was just a little too much and after a while I started to roll my eyes instead of finding them amusing. But the ending was still sweet and I have to say that it was different and unique compared to other books I usually read. So it still gets a solid 3.0 from me!
