i’m so conflicted on this one. bc i luvvvv a book with no plot and no likable characters but this tried too hard to be something it wasn’t. i don’t know if this was supposed to be some kind of inspirational commentary ab how some billionaires are good and can change.

it spent the first 80% of the book highlighting their grotesque wealth and the horrible personalities of truly rich people and then tried to take a character who knowingly slept with a married man, make her meet a child of a lockheed martin knockoff and tell me they’re going to be good people now? the last scene at the dinner table was so laughable like she brings up the lack of knowledge of the female body in MENA countries at a FAMILY DINNER and is like no guys seriously we need to talk about this stuff and then the mother asks her son’s wife what it was like being poor. and i know that part was satirical but the rest of it came off really earnest which just kind of rubbed me the wrong way
