desperately needed an easy read, and i always default to either ya or thriller when i feel that itch (sometimes ya thriller if i'm extra bogged down). this book fulfilled that need perfectly, and i thoroughly enjoyed reading about apache traditions/culture.
however, this book didn't do much else for me. the tone seemed misplaced a lot of the time, with the characters' attitudes not fully matching the terrible events happening, and exposition was delivered in a cumbersome way many times. then again, i do not fault the book for any of this because it is, of course, ya, and as much as i wish it wasn't true, i've definitely grown out of that juvenile style of writing.
still fun though!!! the mystery was cool i liked the reveal a lot
