Sunderworld, Vol. I: The Extraordinary Disappointments of Leopold Berry by Ransom Riggs

4.0

I love fantasy worlds where it feels like the author is uncovering something that already existed rather than inventing something new. The story-telling here was really great as were the characters, only Isabel and Norm felt a little lazy to me. They seemed entirely wedged in - Leopold's instant connection to Isabel just ends up feeling like a shortcut for actual development and Norm's existence so far seems like a convenient way to infodump about the world.
