Ruthless Vows by Rebecca Ross
5.0
The conclusion to the Letters of Enchantment duology. The war with Dacre is still raging on, Roman and Iris are caught in the middle of it. Separated after Dacre’s attack on the village, Roman and Iris try to find a way back to each other. This book had me yelling at it, on the verge of tears, throwing it down and walking away to come back to it because I was mad at a character. It also had me sitting in my car long after arriving home while I listened to the audiobook.
I enjoyed the audiobooks for this duology as there were two narrators one for Iris’s perspective and one for Roman’s. When at home I read the hard copy and couldn’t put it down, to the detriment of things that needed to be done around the house. The main characters aren’t the sole focus of the 2nd book giving a bit more meat to the supporting characters and their contributions to the war effort and their lives.
Overall this was a page turner that was full of emotion but not in a cloying pandering sense.
