It’s such a fun romcom, I couldn’t put down my reader!! The MC, Gene, is endearing and so is his love interest, Luis, with whom he has amazing chemistry. It’s a former friends to friends to lovers and I love this trope!! There’s a bit of tension as they learn to work together again, and their character development is great, especially Gene’s. Apart from the MCs, I also really enjoyed the side characters who all had depth. There are lovely messages about letting yourself want things, showing vulnerability and great discussions surrounding gender, sexuality and mental health. 

I don’t know anything about baseball, and I was a little lost during the games, but it didn’t prevent me from thinking the game scenes were well-written and understanding the stakes.

The pacing was a little off sometimes but except that I don’t have any other issues. If you want a sports romance with low drama, some spice and a lot of heart this is perfect!! Also, there’s a dog ✨
