The Alice Network by Kate Quinn
2.0
It felt like this book was written by two writers. The one who wrote the WWI plot was better and more tolerable than the one who wrote the WWII story (the latter shouldn't even be called historical fiction, it was just a tepid love-story). Eve's part of the book was thrilling, interesting, and made me finish the book. Charlie and her story was boring, vain, and lacked substance. I was surprised why a book that was set up around two world wars provided a character like her. It felt like her presence and her plot made light of the two most tragic events in human history.
The writing was bad too. It was hard to read through it. The author has repeated, "said matter-of-factly" more than 16 times for three different characters. I almost didn't finish this book.
