I hated this book. Granted, I was 16 when I read it, but I've really never hated a book for school as much as I hated the Great Gatsby. I even liked the Scarlet Letter for crying out loud, but I could NOT get into Great Gatsby. Maybe the symbolism just went over my head or I couldn't stop judging the hell out of all the characters. I don't know. Maybe I should reread it now, as a smarter, more educated adult, but I probably never will. Even still, this remains my least favorite book of all time (Gone Girl comes in a close second.)
