In The End, It Was All About Love by Musa Okwonga

5.0

This book grabbed me with the opening line of its opening poem, and I realised in that moment that it had been a long time since a story had pulled me in so urgently. This book held me too, with a tenderness I will not forget for a while, and that I will share with many others in my life. This fragility came in the prose, the narrator's journey, and the way both shared pain and joy. After following the author on Twitter for a while, and reading his articles over the years, this book was not what I expected from him, but that made it all the more special an experience. It could easily be one of my favourite books of the year.
