Chasing the Dollar by Ellie Ashe

2.0

Source: Purchased book on kindle
Genre: Adult, Mystery/Thriller, Action

This book is book one in a series that follows a woman named Miranda who is accused of fraud. She goes through the process of being arrested and everything, and she is found not guilty. She returns home just to find out that her life is no longer the same as it once was. She barley has any money, so she has to move in with her aunt. She cannot find a job because no one wants to hire her based on the run in she just had with the law. So to clear her name she decides to go and figure out what actually went on. She also runs in with an FBI Agent who is researching the case as well, so we follow them on their journey.

This book had a good amount of action, but I felt as though it was too short. The plot and characters could have been developed a bit more. The plot was sped through in my opinion and could have been slowed down and explained more. We are just thrust into the world towards the middle of the book and the characters seem to be confused themselves. The love in the book was a bit instant and under-developed. The love was not slow burning, but just seemed to be lust. I really did not enjoy this book, and I will not be continuing with this series.
