While objectively this is definitely better than book one I didn't quite enjoy it as much? Half way through I was just getting kind of bored. It feels like it could have definitely been condensed into one longer book. A lot of this just felt like the same thing as book one but regardless I still enjoyed getting the end result, reading more about these characters, etc. I think this duology had a lot going for it.
