The Candle Palace is a novella in The Jamison Valley Series; is a story of an emotional and beautiful connection between two very shy and vulnerable individuals who find a connection with each other in some of the very trying conditions for any human being.
Milo, a police officer was horribly burned in an explosion that occurred early in the series – he wasn’t mentioned a lot in the series; except little titbits about his healing and that he is finally happy with a nurse names Sara.
The Candle Palace is Milo’s journey of finding his Happily Ever After – and it takes us back in time, talking about how he met Sara, their extremely forbidden romance and how they find a support in each other.
Milo is one of the most incredible romantic heroes I have had the pleasure of reading – he is at his most vulnerable when he meets Sara, his nurse; yet this vulnerability doesn’t detract an iota from his charm or his alpha – ness; yet with the right amount of gentleness and protectiveness.

Sara is a gorgeous nurse, has a huge heart and a wealth of tenderness; things that make sure that she catches Milo’s attention, through the pain and suffering that he is going through as the burn victim; under her care.
Their connection is instantaneous, yet forbidden intertwined with a intense feeling of want, need for each other, that they just can’t seem to deny – creating fantastic imagery of intensity and expectation as well as hope that seeps right into your soul.
I loved the fact theirs is a love story told in past and present – we get a glimpse of what their life is like years after they both met and married; but it has cameos from the heroines from previous books in the series; although I honestly would have loved to check in on the whole gang!
