The Ornithologist's Field Guide to Love by India Holton

5.0

Others have called this book absurd, and I think that descriptor fits it exactly. What a fun fantasy romp!

Beth is a serious Oxford scholar determined to make men respect her, by Jove. Devon is a human golden retriever who committed the egregious mistake of attending Yale instead of a British school. They're pitted against each other (and every other ornithologist in the field) to find a rare bird to claim the Birder of the Year title and *le gasp* tenure. What ensues is a delightful romp through the English countryside, several instances of grand theft... horse carriage?, and seven beds? Someone got their romance tropes mixed up
