Abarat: Days of Magic, Nights of War by Clive Barker
4.0
This sequel ties a lot of loose ends from the first book and I was entertained throughout the whole book, but it was very predictable and drawn out. The whole first half of the book is just time spent in the Abarat that hardly adds to the story at all (although what happens in the Abarat is always interesting.) And the biggest secret they reveal at the end had so many clues leading up to it that it was very predictable.
I remember liking this book when I was younger a lot more than I like it now, however young readers should be aware that Days of Magic, Nights of War is a lot darker than the first book. I don't think the story is horrible and I did enjoy it despite the problems I had with it, and I'm still excited to start the third book!
